Hi Everyone,
I'm new to the Mr. Excel community but I've got an issue that I just can't figure out. I have survey data that is per household but asks individual information about each child (child 1, child 2, child 3...). I need to do some analysis of all the children in the household survey, but when I put it all in a pivot table, I get the data arranged for all first children in the family, all second children in the family, etc, but I can't get the pivot table to put all the children together. I've attached pictures of the database and pivot table to better visualize the issue as I'm having a hard time explaining it. Anyway, how can I make it so that the pivot table just shows the gender breakdown of the children in all households? I feel like there is a simple explanation that I'm missing. Thank you in advance!
Pivot Table: Notice how it is broken up by child. How can I get it all together?
Database: The data is arranged like this so that we can analyze respondents at the household level, so rearranging the data would be time consuming and not idea.
