Hi, is there a way to have an active Hyperlink in a Protected cell that can not be deleted by another office worker ? Thank You, Ralph

Excel Facts

Create a chart in one keystroke
Select the data and press Alt+F1 to insert a default chart. You can change the default chart to any chart type
If the cell is protected & you lock the worksheet or workbook with a password, this should prevent any deletion or change to that worksheet/book.

See Excel help on protection or google it.

I have a lot of unlocked cells on the sheet also. I need the hyperlink to work and remain locked so that people can not delete it when using the sheet for turn ins. Ralph

lionelnz is correct that this approach is best.

If you only have a few cells to protect follow these steps:

1: Highlight all cells on given sheet by clicking the box above and to left of A1.

2: Go to Format --> Cells --> Protection --> set all to Unlocked.

3: Now select those cells you wish to protect repeating step 2 but this time set to Locked.

4: Protect your Worksheet with a password.

5: Save your file.

Ok but I want the Hyperlink to work and I wondered if that could be done without having the box (Checked) that states allow users to select locked cells?

Allowing users to "Select Locked Cells" does not permit the users to change the values within.
