I want to generate random dates between two dates. I used the formula =RANDBETWEEN(DATE(2014,5,6),DATE(2016,4,23)). Then the number 41918 appears in the cell. What am I missing?

Excel Facts

Ambidextrous Undo
Undo last command with Ctrl+Z or Alt+Backspace. If you use the Undo icon in the QAT, open the drop-down arrow to undo up to 100 steps.
The answer is correct, you just need to format the cell as a date.

Excel stores dates as integers... the number of days offset from (and including) January 1, 1900. Your number is the numerical offset for October 6, 2014. To see this, simply format the cell to show the date format you want.
