Hopefully this will get a quick response. I need a formula for search B3:B18 if any of those matches G20 then 2, if not then -2

Excel Facts

Can you AutoAverage in Excel?
There is a drop-down next to the AutoSum symbol. Open the drop-down to choose AVERAGE, COUNT, MAX, or MIN
Either:

=IF(B3=$G$20,2,-2)
To search for each row if it matches with G20, giving 2 or -2 as output.

Or:

=IF(COUNTIF(
B3:B18,G20)=0,-2,2)

To Count the amount of times G20 appears in the array B3:B18. If it is 0, then -2, otherwise 2 (meaning that it appears 1 or more times).

Hope it helps.
