Hello to all

Fist thing fisrt, I want to wish you an happy and joyfull year

Now the question.

I use a string as a minidatabase for a series of cells. This string is built by reading each cell in the range. Each content is separated qith a coma. At the end my string may look like "b,s,,b,,,b,b,s" In this case, a coma is like a tab.

Now i want to do the reverse. How can i readback each charater in the string variable so i can replace it to the appropriate cell.

Note: Since i use "fusioned cell, cells tight together" i cant use the excel convert tool.

If my question is not clear, dont hesitate for new explanation. English is not my fist language.

Can you AutoAverage in Excel?
There is a drop-down next to the AutoSum symbol. Open the drop-down to choose AVERAGE, COUNT, MAX, or MIN

Have you tried Data-->Text to Columns with comma as the delimiter?

I tried the "convert" in the French version of Excel. This function use coma or tab as delimiter. It doesn't work because the taget cell range as "joined , thight together cells"

As i mention, i'm using the French Excel version, so i'm not sure on english version function name

Hello Bruno

Thanks for the reply

As i wrote, i can't use this function, witch i i tried before, because the targeted range cells are joint together ( two cells operating like one). The convert function does not allowed to work with it.

Can you show the formula that you're using to join the cells in question?

Martin

Do you mean you have merged cells?

Hello again

I will resolve my problem by
- un-merge cell in the range
- copy my data
- merge cells as it was before the entry on the macro.

Doing that, i want have to write special function, i will use the available tool from Excel

Not fancy, but it will work
