I am looking to build a macro to inform a user via a custom ribbon label or other similar process whether or not they have write permission to a network directory. This directory has only two secuity permissions: write access or no access or view. This spreadsheet is used to export transactions into our general ledger. Only approved supervisors can export, but anyone can fill in this Electronic Journal Voucher. Something like "Access Aproved" or "Access Denied" in the custom ribbon label would suffice. Is there any hope of doing this and keeping the overall size of the workbook at a reasonable level?

Thanks in advance!

How to total the visible cells?
From the first blank cell below a filtered data set, press Alt+=. Instead of SUM, you will get SUBTOTAL(9,)
