Hello,

I am trying to show gap between Revenue and Budget by using line (not stacked) charts in MS Excel 2007. I am struggling to shade the area between the two lines. I have looked at few posts on various sites and I am still struggling. I think the scenario of mine is different to whats explained on other posts. The data I am using is as following:-

X Axis - Months from July to June
Y Axix - $

JulAugSepOctNovDecJanFebMarAprMayJun
Revenue 259.7 278.1 272.0 264.2 287.1 258.3 234.2 268.9 276.3 236.6 289.9 265.2
Budget 414.7 433.1 427.0 419.2 442.1 413.3 389.2 423.9 431.3 391.6 445.0 420.2

<TBODY>
</TBODY><COLGROUP><COL><COL span=12></COLGROUP>

Could you please guide me thorugh to set this up. I am not an advanced user in Excel so please bear with me.

Thank you
Sean

Using the "stacked area" chart instead of line chart. If your background color is white then format the "Budget" area color no fill.

I have tried using the stacked area chart type and when I change the area color to no fill then the marker for the legend for that series also changes to no fill. So now I have one series which has a color marker in the legend and another series which has got not marker color in the legend.

Also using the stacked area chart, the Y Axis does not reflect the actual $$. For Example Budget for May is $445 however in the area graph it is sitting at around $700 mark.
