Dear All,
Lets say i need to lookup the value of a particular cell in a row contained in Sheet 1. There are three other sheets; namely Sheet 2, Sheet 3 & Sheet 4 where this value needs to be searched for. Now, on a serious note, what would be the formula using index match for looking up the required value. I know how it's done through vlookup. I would like to know how it's done through index match. Please quote the entire formula considering there are 4 sheets in total.
Regards.

Excel Facts

Why are there 1,048,576 rows in Excel?
The Excel team increased the size of the grid in 2007. There are 2^20 rows and 2^14 columns for a total of 17 billion cells.
I know how it's done through vlookup.
In that case, why don't you post that formula so we can see exactly what you are doing and in what rows/columns you are working, and we could try to replicate with index/match?
Also wondering why you want to do it a particular way if you already have a successful method? Is it a homework assignment?
