Hi There,
i am using Windows 10/64 and Office 16.
when trying to use add-ins that have been made in Excel 2003, i get a message that "VBA Converter is required".
searching the web, i got a "Hot Fix" which Microsoft indicated should resolve the issue.
once unzipped, the HotFix has an instruction text file which guides through the installation.
i did all the steps in that instruction file but still cannot get it running. my add-ins are not working and get the same error message.
Your help with this issue is highly appreciated. i am an end user of the s/w, so please guide me through with simple instructions.

Thanks
Jay

Excel Facts

Pivot Table Drill Down
Double-click any number in a pivot table to create a new report showing all detail rows that make up that number
No workaround I'm afraid, other than re-writing the code for the add-in.

The instruction has alluded to the possibility of installing the Hotfix on a 64 bit system as seen below. i wonder whether it applies to my version of Excel:

"On a 32-bit operating system:
2. Copy the following files into the following folders on your system drive:
a. vbacv10.dll, vbacv10d.dll: \Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\vba\vba7\
b. xl5en32.olb, gren50.olb: the folder where Excel.exe resides, which by default is: \Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office14\
c. vbaen32.olb, vbaend32.olb: the Windows system folder: \Windows\System32\

-OR-

On a 64-bit operating system with 32-bit Excel (WoW):
2. Copy the following files into the following folders on your system drive:
a. vbacv10.dll, vbacv10d.dll: \Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\vba\vba7\
b. xl5en32.olb, gren50.olb: the folder where Excel.exe resides, which by default is: \Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office14\
c. vbaen32.olb, vbaend32.olb: the Windows system folder: \Windows\SysWOW64\

and for both 32- and 64-bit operating systems:

3. Run the batch file vbaconv.bat with elevated (administrator) permissions."

Could you please shed some light on what a "WoW" Excel is and how could i know about mine?
Thanks

Hi RedBeard,
that link was very helpful. i just figured that, although my windows is 64-bit, my excel is 32-bit. which makes it WoW.
this matches the requirements of the HotFix instructions but i am not able to make it work.
would be great if you look into it and see if i am doing anything wrong or miss anything.
thanks for your help
