VBA v VB.Net

I have heard VB.Net is VERY different to VBA.

However, looking at this video

VB.NET Tutorial 1 Introduction :How To Start Programming

it doesn't seem to be the case.

Also, downloading this and installing

Microsoft.com/express/downloads

does look different to VBA.

Have I downloaded the wrong thing?

No, the only similarity between VBA and VB.NET is the similar-looking syntax.
VBA is similar to Visual Basic 6, which is obsolete since about 1997 (?).


VBA is an interpreted language, while VB.NET is compiled.

are supposedly VB.Net, yet looks very similar to VBA.

Is the video and link NOT showing VB.Net?
