vlookup using matching text as criteria

Actually i have a data wherin Sheet 1 column A contains all firm names....and here the names have slight changes in it but are the same firms eg
Anand Pvt Ltd
M/s Anand Pvt Ltd
Anand P Ltd
Anand Private Ltd
and so on...

now i have some of the column A contents in sheet 2 ( eg- Anand) where i want the
all the matching names to be mapped horizontally/vertically

Matching "Anand P Ltd" against "Anand Private Ltd" is *not* an easy feat. This requires fuzzy matching, which is half science and half art.
