Remove leading & trailing spaces
Save as CSV to remove all leading and trailing spaces. It is faster than using TRIM().
Is it only greyed out for this particular workbook, or always?

Just this workbook.

I'm guessing it's because some kind of formatting or something has been applied that isn't compatible within a Shared workbook - but the formatting seems quite straight forward; no merged cells, etc.

I'm kinda stumped!

Are you using Excel 2003? The share workbook command is disabled if your workbook contains any lists (made via the Create List option).

I know this is an old thread, however I am experiencing exactly the same thing.

I have a single workbook, in Excel 2003 which the:

Tools=>Share Workbooks....

is greyed out. It's relevant only to this specific workbook. I inherited the Workbook from a colleague at work. It's pretty big, about 5 Mbytes. It had a list in it, which I converted to a range.

I saved the Workbook, closed it, killed Excel, re-opened the workbook, and no joy.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
