I have added a label onto my worksheet and would like to change the caption.

However, code like this does not work:

Code:
ActiveSheet.Shapes("Label1").Caption="Test"

or

Code:
ActiveSheet.Shapes("Forms.Label.1").Caption="Test"

Can someone please tell me what the correct syntax is ?

Thanks

Excel Facts

Will the fill handle fill 1, 2, 3?
Yes! Type 1 in a cell. Hold down Ctrl while you drag the fill handle.
Try this

Sub Macro1()

ActiveSheet.Shapes("Label 1").TextFrame.Characters.Text = "Changing the caption"
End Sub

What is the actual name of the object then, and is it an Active X label or is it a Form label?
