Hi guys,

I have a column with data (received on weekly basis) and it looks like some of them have space in the end, but it is no space. I cant identify the character.

Have you ever had a similar problem?

I would attache the file but I can not see the option. I am new here. I can send it though.

Could you pls help me?

Thank you

Welcome to the forum.

What does it return if you enter

=CODE(RIGHT(A1,1))

Change A1 to the cell that has the data.

Are you using PC or Mac?

Sounds like a non-printing character.

Where does the data originate from? It it's from the web then it's quite common to come across such characters.

To remove them the first thing you should try is using the CLEAN worksheet function.

If that doesn't work we need to find out what the character is which is straightforward to do using the RIGHT function, if it is definitely the last character.

For example.

=CODE(RIGHT(A1,1))

Once we know what the character is we can use SUBSTITUTE to remove it, for example the following will replace the character with ASCII value 160.

=SUBSTITUTE(A1, CHAR(160), ""
