MS word problem

Got this error today anyone met this before? What to do? Unable to open (.doc) or (.docx) file. All help appreciated since I have no idea how to solve this on my own.

What error? Have you tried repairing the Office installation (via Start > Windows Control Panel > Programs > Programs & Features > Microsoft Office (version) > Change > Repair)?
