Conerting length to 13 digit

I have different length of barcodes on my file, i want to convert all into 13 digits. How can i do this

Do you have the numeric value of the barcodes and with what character did you want to fill it to 13 digits? At the front at the end? A little more information would be helpful.

If it's just for appearance format the cell as 0000000000000

or

=RIGHT("000000000000"&A1,13)

Just to tack on my two cents, I think context is needed. Are you talking about reading data, storing data, sending data? Are the bar codes stored in a table? Are they actually numbers or really text? What is the data type you are using when working with data?

In general, numbers are numbers. It doesn't matter what they look like (if you want to "see" the number a certain way you just set the formatting for the table, query, or report - they can format the number any way you like. You can also format the numbers for clients as needed. If you are the client, I'd want to be able to take the numbers with or without 000's in front.
