Concatenate Date as Number

I have a table in Access that has a list of dates, and I have a second table that has a list of telephone lines.

I tried to make a query to concatenate the telephone line with the dates, but the result is XXX-XXX-XXXX_8/1/2015

What I want is XXX-XXX-XXXX_42217 (the number or serial number version of the date in excel).

I know that access understands 42217 as 8/1/2015 because if I change the date table into numbers through detail view they match. But i want to leave the date table formatted as Date/Time and not Number.

Is there a way to do this?

Yes, you can do it like this:

MyCalculatedField: [TeleponeNumberField] & "_" & Format([DateField],"0")
