Access Table records unexplainably vanished

Hi, I have a question about missing records in access tables.

I'm running a front end VB system which passes SQL to an Access 2007 database on a server. I know I should be using an SQL server etc... but this is just the way things are here.

Basically, between 09:15 and 13:30 yesterday, all updates to the database (3 updates, which updates 1 table, plus 2 related tables each) were updated fine. However, this morning, those 3 updates are nowhere to be seen.

These updates also include Auto Number fields, and the numbers used yesterday have actually been used again today, which leads me to think that the records have not just been deleted, because I know that the number would just carry on going up. Its almost like the database was copied at 9:15am, and then restored overnight. I do not beleive this has happened due to access permissions on the database. Our IT providers have not made any server adjustments either.

Luckily I have copies of all the records as the front end generates emails as soon as records are updated.

Does anyone have any idea what might have happened?? I'm totally stumped.

Cheers

Owen
