Hi - in column B1 I have a date, in C2 I have =B1-8. My data in column I is a list of timesheets.
I have a conditional forma to make the date go blue if column I is older than 8 days.

When I drag this down th column or CTRL C & format painter, the formula is not moving down the rows I5, I6, I7 etc. It sjust increasin the applies to range but is still looking at I5.

Thank you

Excel Facts

Add Bullets to Range
Select range. Press Ctrl+1. On Number tab, choose Custom. Type Alt+7 then space then @ sign (using 7 on numeric keypad)
Select I5 to the row to be formatted & then create the rule using

Solution
I don't think you need an extra column for this CF:

Thank you both, I can't use the today function as the date in B1 in my current report is for 6/12/2023 and not today's date

In row 5 my timesheet date is 02/12/2023 and so I dont expect this to go blue.

On row 39 my timesheet date is 25/11/2023 so I am expecting this to go blue, I have checked the conditional formatting set to this column and it is still looking at I5 and not I39

It does now, I had the original data linking from another cell, if I fix it beforehand it then works - thanks
