Converting 1000Cr to -1000

I’ve got a listing of numbers in the following format:

500
1000CR
600
650CR

How can I convert the 1000CR to show as -1000 and if it doesn’t have the CR at the end how can I keep the number as is.

How about this as a formula:
=IF(RIGHT(A1,2)="CR",LEFT(A1,LEN(A1)-2)*-1,A1)

That would check the value in A1.
