Sorry if this is too simple/basic, but I can't find the answer anywhere.

Scenario:
  1. I have a table with raw data on a worksheet.
  2. I insert a pivot table into a new worksheet and "add data to the data model" so I can use distinct values in the pivot table. The pivot table data source is the whole data table (not a range or anything like that).
  3. Later, I paste new rows of data to the bottom of the original data table, which become new lines of that table.
  4. The newly pasted rows of data show up in the pivot table. (upon refresh)
Question: Can I assume that the newly pasted rows have been automatically added to the data model? In other words, are the distinct values still working? Or do I have to do something special to incorporate the new rows into the data model?

Thanks,
Bill

Best way to learn Power Query?
Read M is for (Data) Monkey book by Ken Puls and Miguel Escobar. It is the complete guide to Power Query.
If your query is build on your table, and you refresh the query, then all new rows will be included.
