Date Condition causes Text insert in another cell

Probably been answered here somewhere but Column D is date formatted and I need a formula where if a date is entered into D3 then the text "Completed" is entered into A3.

Thanks all.

Select the data and press Alt+F1 to insert a default chart. You can change the default chart to any chart type
in excel dates are essentially numbers, so this in A3 may help:
Excel Formula:
=IF(ISNUMBER(D3),"Completed","")
