I just spent two days trying to update a bunch of excel graphs to vector images in Illustrator. The fonts were coming in as scrambled garbage. When I changed everything in Excel from Calibri to Times it worked and I changed it to Arial in Illustrator (Arial in Excel still came in as garbage). So I'm trying to change my default font in Excel to Times or Geneva which also works in Illustrator. But when I go to preferences and change Body to Geneva, quit excel and reopen a new blank workbook it's always Calibri (Body). What do I need to do to make this change stick?
I'm working on a Mac and using Excel 16.16.17 and Illustrator 2019 from Creative Cloud. Both are from my organization so is their defaults overriding mine?

Excel Facts

Formula for Yesterday
Name Manager, New Name. Yesterday =TODAY()-1. OK. Then, use =YESTERDAY in any cell. Tomorrow could be =TODAY()+1.
You need to change the font in the default template, the file that is opened when you open Excel, the program, not an Excel file. Usually, the file name is book.xlsx. The following link may help. Since I don't use Mac, I can't tell if it'd work for you or not. If not, search the net for similar articles.
