Hi, I'd like to change the default so that new Excel 2000 workbooks automatically save a preview picture. Although I've found a couple of folders called "XLSTART" they're empty. Thanks in advance if you know how I can do this and still have Book1.xls appear when I open the program and get sequential names (Book2.xls, Book3.xls, etc.) on additional spreadsheets created during the session.

Excel Facts

Copy a format multiple times
Select a formatted range. Double-click the Format Painter (left side of Home tab). You can paste formatting multiple times. Esc to stop

Have a look at "Create a workbook template for new workbooks" in Excel Help.

Thanks much! I looked all over the place in "Help" but mistakenly thought that it only talked about creating non-default templates.
