I thought MS made 2007 easier!!!

Certainly, it is much more advanced and proven strong when compared to other versions of Excel. However, the navigation & the options and its policies need some time for one to get accustomed to it. Once we excel through these things, we would love it for sure

That's very much a matter of opinion, and I'm not convinced about the 'proven strong' part - proven a bit buggy, currently.

As far as the calculation part is concerned, I am convinced and happy that it is much much faster then all the previous versions of Excel. I have worked with large to very large data sets and VBA works like a treat on these data sets. These data sets on my end are not less than 100000 rows of data. Sometimes it is around a quarter of a million in size.

However, the calc speed is exceptional. I liked it

The multithreaded calculation is good. VBA seems more often than not slower in 2007 than prior versions, particularly where charts are concerned. Some pivot table programming seems really slow (at least prior to SP1 - I haven't tried since) and trying to record macros relating to charts can be incredibly frustrating. And don't get me started on the toolbars...

Rory Rory Rory, that is exactly what I referred to in my post earlier. It will take a little time to get accustomed to the environment and the interface in 2007 including the toolbars. Infact there is no toolbar now. All the options are grouped. I would say they have screwed the toolbars completely in 2007 !! We are habituated using the standard way of approaching the options until 2007. We have something different now, depends if you take it as a challenge or adapt to it slow and steady else get frustrated

Yes there is - the QAT!
I don't object (that much) to everything being moved around, as I understand the reasoning behind it. What I do object to is the difficulty involved in customising it now! I know I can add buttons to the QAT (though that is limited too), but it still seems like a step backward; given that there are tools available to customise the Ribbon, they should be built-in. Anyway, I thought I told you not to get me started...
