Hello All,

In cell A2, I have "=B2"
B2 always shows a full date (ex. 12/02/20)
A2 currently shows the same year (formatted as "yyyy") as B2
But...I want A2 to = B2 minus 1 year

For example...

If B2 = 2020, I want A2 to = 2019

I tried "=B2-1", but it didn't work

I sure this is something totally easy and appreciate any help.

Thanks much!

Spell Check in Excel
Press F7 to start spell check in Excel. Be careful, by default, Excel does not check Capitalized Werds (whoops)
This is probably the formula you need in A2:
=DATE(YEAR(B2)-1,MONTH(B2),DAY(B2))

If you just want the year you can use
Excel Formula:
=YEAR(B2)-1
or if you want the actual date
Excel Formula:
=EDATE(B2,-12)
