How do i get a cell with text to equal a certain number

So i have a column of names of employees and i want to have a cell at the bottom of the page populate how many employees there are automaticly example :

HOW DO I DO THIS
 

Excel Facts

Which lookup functions find a value equal or greater than the lookup value?
MATCH uses -1 to find larger value (lookup table must be sorted ZA). XLOOKUP uses 1 to find values greater and does not need to be sorted.

If there are no duplicates in a range that contains all employee names (say A1:A100 for example):

Excel cannot distinguish between an employee name and his/her job title. Place the title in an adjacent column leaving only the names in the column you want to extract an employee count from.

qc")+COUNTIF($A$2:$A$13,"inbound qc")+COUNTIF($A$2:$A$13,"loader")+COUNTIF($A$2:$A$13,"Maint. Manager")+COUNTIF($A$2:$A$13,"outbound qc")+COUNTIF($A$2:$A$13,"maintenance")+COUNTIF($A$2:$A$13,"5/8 line"))

There is a shorter way to do it... I'll let u know once I wake up a bit more :D
