Last highest value in unordered lists with headings

Column A of my list looks something like this:

Activity ID

January

ACT-001

ACT-002

ACT-004

February

ACT-003

ACT-005

ACT-006

March

ACT-007

ACT-010

April

ACT-008

ACT-009

and so forth.

I want to be able to find the next value to use as an ID. That is, what is the next ACT-xxx number.

Is this even possible with headers in the column?

Try this to find the following Activity:

=MAX(IFERROR(VALUE(RIGHT(A2:A100,3)),0))+1

This is an array formula, if Excel is not 365, will need CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER.
