Lookup a value in a sheet and return the left column value

HI All

I know this is simple if all data is in 2 columns side by side, but my data is across the sheet as shown below:
Data is by month for the whole year
I need to look up todays date and return the value to the left of the date. in this case using todays date in Cell A1, this would return 705

But how do I do this across multiple columns? Is this possible?

Excel Facts

VLOOKUP to Left?
Use =VLOOKUP(A2,CHOOSE({1,2},$Z$1:$Z$99,$Y$1:$Y$99),2,False) to lookup Y values to left of Z values.
How about
Excel Formula:
=LET(x,WRAPROWS(TOCOL(B3:AK33,1),2),XLOOKUP(A1,INDEX(x,,2),INDEX(x,,1)))
