MS WORD 2010 / popup, font size / turn off autofill

When you select text in a document a small popup dialogue box appears above it that allows you to change the font size. It's has turned out to be pretty useful except that there's an autofill for the font. If you type 4 that turns to 48 and 36 if you type 3 and 72 if you type 7, which is a bit of a nuisance. Is there a way to turn off autofill for this dialogue box? I use it pretty frequently and that'd be a help. Thnx ! ps It'd also be neat to be able to customize this dialogue box if possible and add other options to it besides font size, bold, and style, etc.

(I'm familiar with VBA if there is a workaround with that.)
