Hello,

I have very basic excel skills, not having had any education of training in it. No practical experience of VBA, so hopefully I am looking for a simple formula and would be grateful for some help for what is probably a very simple question.

I have a cell which is conditionally formatted to be a colour until someone types in it, which then it reverts to a ‘normal’ looking white cell. This is to alert people for the need to manually input data into the cell.

However, I would also like this cell to have an unfilled background (or white) when the text in the neighbouring cell is 0, as there is no need to alert people to fill this cell in.

Any ideas welcome please.

Excel Facts

What does custom number format of ;;; mean?
Three semi-colons will hide the value in the cell. Although most people use white font instead.
set default color to your empty cell color,
then you should be able to set the column CONDITIONAL FORMATING ( click button on toolbar)

set conditional format to WHITE when cell is not ""
add the rule of next door cell = 0
