Plotting wind direction/speed data with arrowheads as marker type to reflect wind direction

Hi all

I would like to plot wind speed/direction data for a 24-hour period.

Y axis (wind speed) vs X axis (time):
The y axis would display the wind speed scale from say 0 to 10 m/s. For every 15 minutes in each hour, the wind speed would be plotted. However, the marker type would be an 'arrowhead' (like a normal arrow without the line) reflecting the actual direction of the wind during each 15 minutes.

For example, say that during 1:15am and 1:29am, the wind speed was 5m/s, and wind was blowing towards the north - then the chart would show an arrowhead pointing upwards (towards north) at 1:15-1:29am, aligned with the primary y axis at 5m/s. This way it will be showing the wind speed and direction simultaneously.

Does anyone know how I can plot the 'arrowheads' so it is showing the correct wind direction for each 15-minute period, i.e. upwards for wind towards north, right for east, down for south, left for west and all the inbetweens such as NE, SE, SW and NW.

Amount of rain will also be plotted in the same chart in mm. I intend on plotting this against the same y axis as rain will not exceed 10 mm. I will just provide 2 labels so the viewer knows which is which.
