return text not value - like sumproduct

I'm going in circles, but here we go:

formula for B1 - if A3:5 = A1, return value in range of B3:5
in this case, there would only EVER be one "apple" out of a range of 100 cells - so i don't need it to spill to c, d, e etc...

appreciate the help!
