Excel Facts

Formula for Yesterday
Name Manager, New Name. Yesterday =TODAY()-1. OK. Then, use =YESTERDAY in any cell. Tomorrow could be =TODAY()+1.
When you go to save the document, click on the tools button next to save

Select General Options.
Enter a password to modify.
You can also check read-only recommended.

This way they need to know the password to save over this file, otherwise they will only be able to save as.

I know this way but it doesn't help me because I want to make audit trail
So there is not another way?

You didn't mention anything about an audit trail in your initial post. So forgive me if I didn't consider this when replying.
You could always use the
VBA Code:
Private Sub Workbook_BeforeSave(ByVal SaveAsUI As Boolean, Cancel As Boolean)
this worksheet event to action when you save the file. Then add your code to do what you want when they hit save.
