Dynamic array formulas.

Can someone explain why if my array starts with cell C4, it doesn't work; but it does if I start at D4?

The formula works for me.
Try entering the formula again and/or try your mini example on a clean sheet.

What works for me too is:

=SCAN(0,C4:AL4,SUM)

I can't reproduce any error.

Thanks all for the suggestion. I did take your advice and tried on a fresh sheet. I discovered that cell C4 was actually blank text.

You will get the error is C4 is not an empty cell.
