Text file (CSV) Problem

Hi

I have a large text file (CSV) and need to identify cells that do not contain “r:”
What I would like to do is have an “X” placed in the cell to the left of each text cell that does not contain “r:”
Here is a sample:

SALERNO, Stacy; 1968 (See Fruiterman, Mrs. Stacy H.) SALFELDER, Gary; 1962; Plumbing Inspector; r: 123 Cypress Ln., Palm Spgs., FL 55555, 555 555-9681; Kathy; Stacie

Is that a CSV or semi-colon seperated file? Either way, can't you open it up in Excel, do a text-to-columns (if needed) and examine column 5 (if I'm counting right).

=If(LEFT(E1,2)="r:","X","")

Here's one that works where ever the Re: might be within the string, just in case. You will need to update the column references.

=IF(ISERROR(FIND("Re:",A1,1)),"",FIND("Re:",A1,1))
