We have a user who is unable to copy any data in Excel (M365) on a W10 laptop. When they right-click > copy on selected data, they get the error below:

"Sorry, we couldn't find c:\Users\firstname.surname\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\INetCache\Content.Outlook\filename.xlsm' Is it possible it was moved, renamed or deleted?'

The file it references was a Macro enabled spreadsheet we received from a client - it has been scanned for malicious content and has come back clean.

Copy function in other Office apps works as expected.

The issue is unique to his user profile.

Excel Facts

Can a formula spear through sheets?
Use =SUM(January:December!E7) to sum E7 on all of the sheets from January through December
Some things to look at:-
  1. If you go View > Unhide
Are there any hidden spreadsheets open that are not intended to be open ?
If so look in the XLSTART folder and get rid of it.

  2. If you go to the VBA editor Alt+F11
Are they any workbooks that have with modules that you are not expecting and look under ThisWorkbook on unknown workbooks to see if there are macros in there.
    (kind of overlaps with 1)

  3. Goto File > More > Options > Add-Ins
Are there any Add-ins that you aren't using or don't recognise ?
