I am struggling to work out why the following macro isn't working

Sub Macro1()

' F2986 formula is =Cash!XX76

Dim CC1 As String
CC1 = Val(InputBox("Enter two letter code", "Column code", 2)) ' Entering BD
Range("F2986").Select
Selection.Replace What:="XX", Replacement:=CC1, LookAt:=xlPart
Range("F2987").Select

End Sub

Any suggestions?

Excel Facts

What is =ROMAN(40) in Excel?
The Roman numeral for 40 is XL. Bill "MrExcel" Jelen's 40th book was called MrExcel XL.
Remove "Val" & you don't need "Select":
VBA Code:
Sub Macro1()

' F2986 formula is =Cash!XX76

Dim CC1 As String
CC1 = InputBox("Enter two letter code", "Column code", 2) ' Entering BD
Range("F2986").Replace What:="XX", Replacement:=CC1, LookAt:=xlPart

End Sub
