VBA Deleting a cell if the year is less than the year in another cell but not in a date format

My macro is stepping through the dates in column D from row 130 downwards. If it hits a date that the year of the date is less than the year recorded in a cell on another worksheet (MasterIB5). it must delete the contents as well as the contents in the same row in column C. The year entered in Master!B5 is in a cell formatted as General
I have tried this with code I currently have but simply cannot get it right.

Can anyone please assist.

Please post a sample of your data so we can see what it looks like.

MrExcel has a tool called “XL2BB” that lets you post samples of your data that will allow us to copy/paste it to our Excel spreadsheets, so we can work with the same copy of data that you are. Instructions on using this tool can be found here: XL2BB Add-in

Note that there is also a "Test Here” forum on this board. This is a place where you can test using this tool (or any other posting techniques that you want to test) before trying to use those tools in your actual posts.
