Hi I am using this formula:
VLOOKUP(A2,OURS!$B$2:$B$2041,1,FALSE) (ours is the name of the worksheet it is looking at)
to compare a list of names
1st list is in OURS COLUMN B
2nd list is in SEN Column A

I would prefer a similar formula that gives a partial match to allow for sometimes a different spelling of a name or random spaces.

thanks

Excel Facts

Copy a format multiple times
Select a formatted range. Double-click the Format Painter (left side of Home tab). You can paste formatting multiple times. Esc to stop
Try:

Excel Formula:
=VLOOKUP("*" & A2 & "*",OURS!$B$2:$B$2041,1,FALSE)

If it is not what you need, then give several examples of what you have and what you expect as a result.
