Why 'Worksheet_SelectionChange' works unstable

Below code sometimes works, sometimes not, why? Could you please comment ?

column = Target.Column: row = Target.Row
If column = 1 And row = 1 Then
ActiveSheet.Shapes.Range(Array("Button 2")).Visible = False
Else
ActiveSheet.Shapes.Range(Array("Button 2")).Visible = True
ActiveSheet.ComboBox2.Visible = False
End If

Maybe it only happens when you forget to turn off the Design Mode in the Developer menu.
