Attaching files

I would like to voice my opinion. It would be very helpful to be able to attach a file. By doing so the issues can be resolved better. Formulas and macros can be tested directly so there aren't any misunderstandings and accomplished in a more efficient way.

Please consider this feature thank you,
BRS

This has been discussed "ad nauseum" over the years.
If you search this "About This Board" forum, over past years, you will be able to find lots of discussions on it.

To summarize, the main reasons for not doing so include:
- bandwidth issues
- security issues
- people tend to get lazy and upload files and not really describe their issues when doing so

Note that while you cannot upload files to this site, there are tools you can use to post screen images. They are listed in Section B of this link here: http://www.mrexcel.com/forum/board-a...forum-use.html.
Also, there is a Test Here forum on this board that you can use to test out these tools to make sure they are working correctly before using them in your question.

Some people will also upload files to file sharing sites and posts the links here. But note that MANY people here cannot or will not download files from the internet for security reasons. My workplace, for one, actually forbids employees to download anything off of the internet with Data Security approval. So if you rely on an uploaded file to demonstrate your issue, you may be reducing the size of your potential helper pool.

Thanks Joe for the info. I like your messages at the bottom of #2. How can I attach something like that when replying to posts?

Once you hit 50 posts, you will be able to add a signature like that.
