Create sounds on selecting cell

For Mark O'Brien :-

When a cell is selected, how do you make it sing the national anthem and how do you set which country's anthem is to be sung?

Mark,

Are you sure "flower of Scotland" would get past any virus-checking software ?

Hey, I'm also in favour of a devolved parliament for Geordieland as well. "Fog on the Tyne" by Gazza and Lindesfarm (sp?) could be the anthem. (or that one by Hoddle and Waddle, "Diamond Lights" or whatever it was called.)

Excel Facts

Why are there 1,048,576 rows in Excel?
The Excel team increased the size of the grid in 2007. There are 2^20 rows and 2^14 columns for a total of 17 billion cells.
This works nice but forces the focus to the OLE object.

Would like to EMBED an object (MIDI) and play without the user knowing...

Doable?

Ivan gave us all a nifty routine to play MIDI's on our HD's.

The code simply starts playing the MIDI and VBA code continues processing .

So if you've got nifty graphics on the screen and play a MIDI, the graphics can still be doing their thing while the song is playing.

With the embedded MIDI, the code presented in this thread transfers contol the to OLE OBJECT and seems to pause the VBA until the object is finished doing its thing.

Similar to playing the MIDI file style, would be nice to kick off the MIDI and continue processing as normal...

I did a search on MIDI and found this thread along with a thread in which IVAN dropped a piece of code that allowed you to play MIDI from a file.

Rather than start a new thread, I hit this one since it made reference to playing an EMBEDED MIDI (which I prefer to playing from a file).

For my purposes, I kick off the playing of the MIDI straight from a line of code within a module... No specific event associated with firing the playing that I need.
