    HI,

I know how to use Vlookup, but it is not working when my list in column 1 is actually shorter than the list with the lookup values.

    Any advice?

    Hi

Try INDEX and MATCH nested, eg

    =INDEX(A1:E10,MATCH("MyValue",C1:C20,0),3)

Care to provide a small sample that illustrates your problem?
