I have a 8,000 row file that has a customer number for each row; however, on the customer # where there is less than 6 digits, the zeros are missing. Is there a simple formula that would add the zeros back so that all the customer numbers are 6 digits?

Thanks,

Here is a sample:

Excel Facts

Copy a format multiple times
Select a formatted range. Double-click the Format Painter (left side of Home tab). You can paste formatting multiple times. Esc to stop
Got it figured out.

1) Len(Customer # cell) Returns # of Digits
2) Copy len to value
3) Add a colum with six 0 "000000"
4) Concatenate (left("00000",6-(len formula), then cust #)

Thanks. I love that there are so many ways in excel to solve a problem. I think I took the long way. I'll use the shorter solutions.
