Password Protection and the French Standard

Hi.

I am having a problem with a file that I have password protected and sent to a french colleague. The file was created on Excel 97 and is being openned in excel 97.

I have found the error on the microsoft webpage for Word 97, for which I have attached the website below. I am assuming that this will be same for Excel 97.

Does anyone know another workaround to solve this problem, as I don't want to send out this spreadsheet with out the password protection.
