I have had great experiences on this forum with all of the help I have received doing my little projects. I do appreciate all of it.

I have an Excel workbook that I would like to have some help with as I have tried several ISTEXT, VLOOKUP etc... on to no avail.

What the person does first, is select the ERA or AGE they are in, in Cell B1.

This changes all of the drop down boxes in G4 to K11.

Any selection in that area has True False labels in the G33 to K50 area.

B31 to F31 shows the current Units attached to the B1 AGE or ERA.

Now for what I want to happen. In cells A4 to E11 I want the corresponding weaker units that the opposing players units are fighting against (selected in G4 to K11) to show up either with their correct title (listed in B14 through F27) or just a simple "X". The X may be much simpler and would work just fine. (never mind the Special Units in orange in column G for now)

What is ultimately accomplished is to allow the player to see the correct "Stronger Unit" to fight against the opposing players "Weaker Unit" in the battles automatically.

Example: a LIGHT Unit is most effective against a Fast Unit or Artillery Unit. A HEAVY Unit is most effective against a Light Unit or Fast Unit.

My problem is that I cannot figure out a way to have the "X" show up correctly if more than one is chosen on a particular row 4 thru 11.

In cells A4 to E11 is just formulas that I had tested most recently.

All help would be greatly appreciated.

Excel Facts

Copy formula down without changing references
If you have =SUM(F2:F49) in F50; type Alt+' in F51 to copy =SUM(F2:F49) to F51, leaving the formula in edit mode. Change SUM to COUNT.
