what power pivote can do that regular pivot can not

I am reading more about this but would appreciate the idea behind power pivot and if there is an example that power pivot can do that regular pivot can not.

Thanks all of you for your help and reply. I still need to go through these document to understand it better. Now I am thinking if PowerPivot is better then why I do not escape pivot table and start learn power pivot since I have feeling that powerpivot can do what pivot table can do and much more. thanks a lot.
