I like meny people have done quite a few lines for the lottery this week, i have put them in a spread sheet and would like to type the winning numbers into my sheet and then have it query my numbers and either highlight the matches or even better show the number of matches in a new column.

Excel Facts

When they said...
When they said you are going to "Excel at life", they meant you "will be doing Excel your whole life".
Assuming the winning numbers are in A1:G1

and your selections in A3:F3, A4:F4 etc.

then you could select your range of selections and use this formula in conditional formatting

=MATCH(A3,$A$1:$F$1,0)

to highlight all matches

for a total of matches on each row, adding to Parsnip's suggestion, this formula can be use in H3 copied down column

=SUMPRODUCT(1-ISNA(MATCH(A3:F3,A$1:G$1,0)))
