Display data based on month

hi all,..

i have data set this below start column a

date	title
02/01/2014	as
05/01/2014	ab
06/02/2014	ac
08/03/2014	ad
10/03/2014	ae
25/04/2014	af
etc...

<tbody>
</tbody>

i want to display data based on month...e.g. display data only February, etc..[with drop list month]

maybe,,something like Filter or helper column...

it's possible with formula (not pivot/vba)

Control+shift+entered in E4, copied down, and across, will:

=IFERROR(INDEX(A$2:A$8,SMALL(IF(TEXT($A$2:$A$8,"mmmm")=$E$2, ROW($A$2:$A$8)-ROW($A$2)+1),ROWS(E$4:E4))),"")

return what you need. Doesn't it?

It is working for me with the sample data shown. Presumably you have more data than that so you would need to ensure everywhere Aladin has $8 in his formula, you have changed that number to one at least as great as the last row of your actual data. Have you made that change (& still remembered control+shift+enter)?

If you mean your topic title, "display data based on month", that looks to me more than reasonable for it covers what you wanted.

All data related to January up to December would be exactly all of the data. Why would you want that?

hi aladin, for reason certainly my boss need show all data in 1 year to count and analyze "shoot on target" in next year...
